FAQ
How fast can I get auditions?
Most casting calls start getting submissions within 2-4 hours. You can get full casting turnaround same-day if needed. For urgent projects, check “Need Auditions ASAP” when creating your project and agents will prioritize your casting call.
How many artists will audition?
As many as you want. You set the audition limit per agency when creating your project. Most clients choose to receive about 100 auditions per role total, but you’re in complete control. With 70+ agencies, you can adjust the limits to get exactly the volume you need.
Can I use this for union talent?
Yes. You can specify union (SAG-AFTRA) or non-union when creating your casting call, and agents will submit accordingly. Many of our agencies represent both union and non-union talent, so you’ll get appropriate submissions based on your project requirements.
What if I need to cast multiple roles?
We charge a flat $350 per project. Within that project, you can cast as many voice-over roles as you need. For on-camera projects, up to 10 roles are included per project (and in practice, no one has ever come close to that limit).
For example, if you’re casting a radio campaign that requires four roles—announcer, mother, daughter, and father—that would still be just $350 total for the project.
Do I need to know which talent agencies to invite?
No, you can invite all 80+ agencies with one click, or select specific ones if you have preferences. Most producers invite all agencies for maximum options, then let agents self-select based on whether they have talent that fits. If an agency doesn’t have a good match, they simply won’t submit.
Can my whole team review auditions?
Yes. You get one shareable link that anyone can access—no login required. Team members can listen, leave comments, and favorite auditions. You maintain admin control and can see who’s listened to what. It’s perfect for getting feedback from creative directors, copywriters, and clients without email chains.
Do you work with studios for recording?
Yes, our sister company Studio Awesome operates professional studios in LA. We offer integrated cast-record-mix packages, which include your casting call, professional recording session, and full audio post-production. You can also just use Select Casting for casting and work with your own studio.
What's your refund policy?
If you don’t receive enough qualified auditions from professional voiceover artists to make a selection, we’ll refund your project fee. We’ve never had to do this, however. Usually, the issue is not inviting enough talent agencies while asking for something really specific.
How is this different from Voices.com or Voice123?
Those are pay-to-play platforms where anyone can submit auditions. We work exclusively with professional talent agents who pre-screen submissions. You get 50-100 curated auditions instead of 300 random ones. The agents do the quality control, so you don’t waste time sorting through submissions that don’t match your specs.
Can I work with the same actor again?
Absolutely. Once you’ve cast talent through Select Casting, you have their contact information and their agent’s details. You can book them directly for future projects, or create another casting call through our platform if you want options. Many producers develop ongoing relationships with talent they discover through our service.
Do you charge actors?
No. We don’t charge actors anything to audition. Direct-to-actor platforms like Voices.com charge actors monthly subscription fees, which incentivizes those platforms to let anyone audition—not just qualified talent. We charge you a flat $350 project fee, so our incentive is delivering quality auditions you can actually use.
